Liquid Helium Transport Dewar Up Close and Personal Version 1.2.2 describes how a probelm with a Dewar was discovered, diagnosed and rectivied.  The document format is MS Word 1995-2003 format (.doc).

fSpinWorks is a multifunctional NMR processing and presentation package.  It is totally FREE.  No license required.  Down load it (and the manual) to c:\Program Files\Spinworks and run the 'setup.exe' program.  A short-cut to the manual placed on the desktop is a good idea.

MestreNova is a cutting edge, multi-functional, NMR Processing and Presentation package together with Spectral Estimation (Prediction from structures).  It  is offered for a 45-day evaluation and you need to apply for a license (instructions below) to continue to use it.

For the Windows 'batch' scripts that follow, please down load them and then rename them .bat

FixNMR.bat is for use on the Rhodes Campus.  It sets up the various data areas of the 400 MHz spectrometer's Disk as drive mappings on your PC.

KillProcDataOnC.bat does just what it says.  1D and 2D processed data files, 1r, 1i, 2ii 2rr 2ir and 2ri are removed from disk C:\  and all sub directories. This dramatically reduces the amount of storage required.  The Bruker processed data are of little use unless you have a Bruker package on your PC.  The raw data are not disturbed.  It is a Windows batch file, easily edited with any text editor, and easily modified to operate with some other drive letter.

LocalKillProcData functions in a similar fashion to KillProcDataOnC only now it operates on the folder structure in which it is installed, and sub-folders.  It is useful for preparing data sets for transmission by email, or uploading to web sites, FTP servers, etc.

Back-UP Thesis copies a folder from your PC to a Flash Stick.  The nice trick is that after the first time, it only copies files that have changed.  You will need to edit the file to tell it where your PC HD folder is and where the flash-stick is (which drive).

These files open in a red command-prompt box and remain red while working.  On completion the background turns green.  Termination with an error condition has a yellow background.

You still need to apply for an evaluation license:

Download the  install package.  Click on the package to install it ... just fiollow the prompts, generally accepting what is offered as a first choice.

1. Just run the application and follow the instructions on the Registration Wizard. When prompted as to whether you already have a license file, select 'No'
2. Follow the instructions in the wizard to select, register and activate each one of the plugins
3. You will be sent to our web site to obtain license files for both Mnova NMR and NMRPredict Desktop. Save the license files to your hard disk and follow the wizard instructions to activate the license files.
4. Restart the application. You should now have a green tick mark on the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
5. You can check that the activation has been successful by going to the 'Help/License Manager' menu
