services does not consider itself to be in competition with other
service agencies in Grahamstown. Inevitably there will be some overlap
but FIXit Services aim to provide a rapid response and lower price
structure than other agencies can achieve. These jobs, when taken by
multi-staffed agencies either result in the customer being charged
heavily for a small job, or the agency concerned operating at a loss.
For an agency technical engineer to replace a fuse at a customer's
premises ties-up the technician and possibly an assistant, a vehicle
and tools and equipment for about 1 hour: An hour in which they could
have been far better employed. In addition agency workloads are such
that delays of up to 3 days are not uncommon between
request-for-service and response.
Typically a customer may
call on FIXit Services: We then examine the job and decide whether
to accept it or refer the customer to another agency with better
resources. If FIXit services refers the customer to another agency no
charge is levied. No cure, no Pay. It may also happen that once work
commences FIXit Services may discover problems which it is not equipped
to solve. Again we refer to another agency and levy no charge.
