Cost Structure.
All charges are inclusive of VAT.
The basic labour rate
is R100-00 per hour. This time refers to "time on the job generally
rounded to the nearest half hour. Labour is charged based on the time
which I consider a capable service person would require to do the work. If I need to spend time researching the repair, the customer is not charged for my learning time :-)
Travel time is not charged for within the Grahamstown area. However a travel charge is levied. The travel charge is R5-00 per kilometer for travel within the Grahamstown Metropolitan Area. More extensive travel, to local airports for example, would be negotiated with the customer. Such negotiated pricing would consider vehicle costs for fuel and kilometerage and an hourly rate lower than that for repair work.
A discount of 25 % is offered for pensioners and students. In the case of students they may be asked to show their student registration card and to provide a payment ('up-front') of R75-00 before work commences. In the event that FIXit services are unable to assist them the advance payment will be returned to the student.
Any part(s)
required to effect repairs will be charged at cost plus a surcharge
which reflects some of the time, travel and other expenses involved in
procuring the parts.
